How it works

A day in a 200-flat society, end to end

The gate is where a society is felt most, so we start there. Everything else — households, staff, safety, notices, billing — hangs off the same record of who lives here and who came to visit.

The gate loop

Five moments. The whole loop is designed so the slowest part is the human deciding, not the software.

  1. 01

    Arrival

A visitor gives a name, a flat and a reason. If the resident pre-registered them, the pass is already on the tablet and this step is a scan.

  2. 02

    The ask

Every adult in the household gets one card. The first answer wins; the rest quietly disappear. The guard's screen shows "waiting" with a live timer, so nobody is left wondering.

  3. 03

    No answer

After the timeout the guard follows the household's standing rule — leave with the guard, ask to wait, or turn away. The guard is never asked to invent a policy at 11pm.

  4. 04

    Offline

Passes are verified on-device with a signature, not a lookup. Events queue locally and reconcile when the link returns — with the original timestamps intact.

  5. 05

    The record

One entry in the visitor log: who, when, which gate, who answered. It is not fed into a profile, a score, or a movement map. A landlord cannot read the log of a home they have rented out.

The rest of the system

Household

Members, vehicles, pets, standing gate rules, and a move-out that closes cleanly: the outgoing tenant's data leaves, the flat's record stays with the society.

Staff

A domestic worker carries one pass across the households they work for. No biometrics, no public ratings, no in-building tracking. A household's private note stays in that household.

Safety

SOS routes to the guard post and the nominated committee members at once, with the flat and the gate. Fire alarms carry the only ceiling that overrides quiet hours.

Notices

Committee posts, AGM papers, water-tanker timings. Each notice picks a priority when it is written, and the platform decides how loudly that priority is allowed to arrive.

Billing

Maintenance invoices, part payments, receipts, and a dues ledger the treasurer can reconcile. Unpaid dues are a finance matter — never a reason to stop someone at the gate.

Many homes

One account, several residences — own in Pune, rent in Bengaluru. Switching homes switches the whole context, including which notices reach you.
